Nationally renowned Hartford public high school track, swimming and cross country coach for 40 years, 1924 to 1964.

Coaching Record

Track teams won 10 Outdoor State Championships, 2 Indoor State Championships, and 17 City and 16 Greater Hartford titles. Overall record of 209-64.

Swim teams captured 15 State Championships, had 7 unbeaten seasons, won 61 straight dual meets, and compiled a 262-134-1 record.

Cross country teams went 116-46, won 7 State Championships and 18 City and 3 Greater Hartford titles, with 10 Individual State Champions.

Honors/Tributes

Presented Gold Key by the Connecticut Sportswriters Alliance in 1950, and was inducted into the Connecticut High School Coaches Association's Hall-of-Fame in 1978.

Larry Amann died in 1976.
