Leo Bedrick

Outstanding diver on 4 successive unbeaten, state championship Hartford Public High School swimming teams from 1935 to 1938.

Individually, went undefeated 3 straight years, and won 3 consecutive state diving titles; leading scorer on the 1938 team; was also a strong point-producer in the breast stroke; went on to stardom in AAU competition.

Member of HPHS 1938 track team, winner of the State Championship and the Greater Hartford Meet; competed in the pole vault.

Received Wickham Medal as best athlete in class of 1938; awarded Whitney A. Carr Scholarship to the University of Iowa; was 3-year letterman as star diver on Hawkeyes' swimming teams; bronze medalist in Big Ten Intercollegiate Diving Championships; UI graduate, majored in commerce, class of 1942; career businessman
