John Cuyler

Highly respected Boy's Head Basketball Coach at Hartford Public High School, 1966-77; faculty member, 1966 to 1994.

Graduate of Florida A & M University; outstanding student, captain of basketball team in senior year; member of ROTC, and following graduation served as first lieutenant in United States Army.

Coached HPHS basketball team to 4 Class II runner-up finishes, 7 Capital District Conference Titles and 11 City Championships, and produced 7 All-State Players; also Coach of Tennis.

Selected as Basketball Coach-Of-The-Year by the Hartford Times, and was named CDC Coach-of-the-Year; from 1978 to 1982 was Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at the University of Hartford.

Member of both the Florida A & M Athletic Hall-of-Fame and the university's Basketball Hall-Of-Fame, received Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1996.
