Hank Giardi

All-time great Hartford Public High School athlete, went on to college stardom and coaching achievements.

Starred for the Owls, football, basketball and baseball, 1932-34; football All-Stater as halfback, District scoring champion, 45 points, 1933; selected to Hartford Courant Greater Hartford Basketball Team, 1932-1933, 1933-1934; went on to play football, basketball and baseball at Holy Cross; was an outstanding back on Crusader football teams which compiled 3-year record of 23-3-2, including perfect 7-0 mark in 1937; was inducted into the Holy Cross Athletic Hall of Fame in 1977.

High school athletic director/coach, 1941-1983; Athletic Director; East Hartford HS, 1954 to 1983, Head Football Coach, 1952-1962.
