Dwight Tolliver

All-American basketball player, season of 1966-67; 4-year starter for the Owls, All-New England, 1966-67, All-State and All-City, 1965-66 and 1966-67.

Received Wickham Medal as best athlete in HPHS Class of 1967.

Basketball star at the University of Rhode Island, named to All-Yankee Conference Team; member, Class of 1972.

Coached boy’s and girl’s basketball teams at Weaver High School for 18 years; boy’s team won the Class LL State Championship in 1990-91.

Selected by Greater Hartford African-American Alliance in 1997 as one of 3 male role models in Hartford; also in 1997, was cited by the city and the state General Assembly for devotion and commitment to youth in Hartford’s Public School System.
