Tom Keenan

Star pitcher on Hartford Public High School baseball teams, 1940, 1941, 1942; Class of 1942.

Three-year member of Owls’ football teams; Varsity letter winner, 1940, 1941.

Captain of 1949 Providence College baseball team.

U.S. Navy veteran, World War II; played professional baseball in Detroit Tigers’ system, and with the Hartford Chiefs, then a Boston Braves’ farm team; pitched many years in Greater Hartford Twilight League; long active in youth baseball programs.

Career educator; taught for 37 years at HPHS; retired as vice-principal in 1986.
