Stan Egnat

Widely-respected basketball player in the traditionally strong Hartford Public High School program in the mid-1950’s; also played baseball for the Owls.

Starred on Coach Joe Kubachka’s 1957-58 basketball team; strong player at both ends of the court; at the conclusion of the season was named to the All-State Team, and was also chosen to the Class “A” All-Tournament Team by sportswriters who covered the action at the New Haven Arena.

Served in U.S. Army Military Police, 1960 to 1966.

Stayed close to basketball as semi-pro player, and was associated with New Britain Boy’s and Girl’s Club for 18 years.
