Bill Lesinski

All-time football star for the Owls; went on to be respected as a coach and athletic administrator.

All-State guard, 1959; also, All-Capital District Conference, Captain senior year.

Boston University standout, 1960 to 1963; All-American, All-Conference, All-New England, All-East; Team Captain in senior season.

Player-coach Hartford Charter Oaks, 1964 and 1965; played for Waterbury Orbits, 1966 and 1967, and with Hartford Knights, 1968.

Head football coach, Windsor High School, 1969 to 1980; teams won Central Valley Conference Championships in 1973 and 1975, and had 10 winning seasons; his boy’s track teams once ran off more than 30 wins in a row; and he was a strong advocate of girls’ athletic programming.

Windsor Athletic Director, 1980-93; New Britain Director of Athletics, 1993-99.

Member and official in a number of professional organizations.

Recognition 1999-2000: National Association for Sport and Physical Education. Athletic Director State Of Connecticut –CAAD. Eastern Regional Athletic Director of the Year – NCSS and. Finalist for the National Athletic Director of the Year. Athletic Director of the Year – NASPE Connecticut High School Coaches Association.
