Louis V. Sanzaro, JrStar football lineman for Coach Johnny Newell-led Hartford Public High School teams, 1940 to 1942; the 1942 Owls won the City Championship. Member, Connecticut All-State Team, 1942; All-District, 1941 and 1942; All-City, 1941 and 1942. Strong play was important as the 1942 Owls played a 6-6 tie with eventual state champion New Britain. Also in 1942, the Owls defeated untied and undefeated Weaver 7-0 for the City Championship. World War II and Korean War veteran; served as captain in Connecticut National Guard; long and distinguished career as educator. Community leader, served on various boards and commissions; coached three years in midget football program.
