Denise L. Nappier1969 * Multiple Sports * "An Athletic Forerunner""Mens sana in corpore," A sound mind in a sound body " ~ Roman lawyer
Juvenile, 120 AD, As one of the Nappier triplets, Denise L. Nappier was a member of the Hartford Public High School class of 1969. Denise, along with other women, was a pioneer in women's high school athletics in Hartford prior to the enactment of Title IX. Demonstrating her athletic excellence and sportsmanship throughout her years at HPHS, the Denise was a member of the first HPHS track and field team and the first gymnastic team coached by Joella Marshall. Together, the Nappier sisters helped win 4 consecutive City track championships. A summary of her accomplishments includes:
