Donna L. Nappier

As one of the Nappier triplets, Donna L. Nappier was a member of the Hartford Public High School class of 1969. Donna, along with other women, was a pioneer in women's high school athletics in Hartford prior to the enactment of Title IX. Demonstrating her athletic excellence and sportsmanship throughout her years at HPHS, the Donna was a member of the first HPHS track and field team and the first gymnastic team coached by Joella Marshall. Together, the Nappier sisters helped win 4 consecutive City track championships. A summary of her accomplishments includes:

  • 1966-1969 Gymnastics Free Floor Exercise-First
  • 1965-1969 100 yards second 880 yard relay-First Standing broad jump second, running long jump-Third
  • 1966-1967 Volleyball
  • 1967-1969 Cheerleading
  • 1969-1973 Gymnastics Floor Exercise-First Also: Cheerleader, played Field Hockey
  • Virginia State Class 1973 Health and Physical Education BS Degree
  • Graduate Studies - University of Hartford, Connecticut

Donna currently serves as Assistant City Treasurer for Hartford, Connecticut .
